Mix Neocate Syneo Infant with water that is less than 104°F (40°C) to preserve the benefits of the probiotic cultures. To make a standard dilution (20 Cal/fl oz), add 1 unpacked level scoop (4.7 g) of powder to each 1 fl oz of water. Cap bottle; shake well.
Can you make Neocate with boiling water?
Do not boil the formula and do not use a microwave oven to prepare or warm formula. THE PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEOCATE LCP DIFFER TO STANDARD FORMULAS YOU BUY IN A SUPERMARKET. PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE LABEL AND FOLLOW THEM CAREFULLY. Neocate LCP can appear less “milky” than other formulas.

Can you make Neocate with cold water?
You need to let the water cool until it’s only warm on your wrist before adding the powder, as per the tin. Neocate shouldn’t be treated like ‘normal’ formulas by being added to really hot water because that can affect the ingredients of the formula.
How quickly does Neocate work?
Some parents have told us that they’ve noticed changes as soon as the first few days, but change can take time. Some research shows it can take that full 2 weeks to see the full improvement in symptoms of food allergy. Be sure to talk to your baby’s healthcare team if you are unsure about any changes you see.
Can you mix Neocate with cold water?
You should then remove it from the heat and allow the water to cool for about 30 minutes to bring it down to a cooler temperature that would be safe for mixing with Neocate Infant formula (below 122’F/50’C). This cooler temperature should not affect nutrient levels in the formula.
Can you warm Neocate?
Neocate powdered products can be heated up to a temperature of 122 degrees. Neocate Syneo can be heated up to 104 degrees.
Can you add vanilla extract to Neocate?
For example, add 1-2 drops of pure unpreserved vanilla essence (containing no sorbate) to a bottle of prepared Neocate formula for a few days. Once your baby is taking Neocate, gradually decrease this quantity and stop adding vanilla essence altogether.
Do babies drink less Neocate?
Neocate Infant If your little one is bottle-fed, you can expect that he or she will probably consume about the same volume of Neocate InfantDHA/ARA as of the current formula. The amount of Neocate may increase or decrease a little bit, especially in the beginning.

Can Neocate make reflux worse?
Some physicians recommend it and others feel that it can actually worsen reflux for some infants. It also dilutes the nutrient content of formula or breast milk. Thickening bottle feedings is shown to reduce vomiting but there are mixed results in terms of its effect on reflux itself.
Can you mix Neocate with breast milk?
If your baby takes 5 bottles a day, your healthcare team might recommend adding 2 fluid ounces of prepared Neocate to each bottle of expressed breast milk. You would prepare the Neocate at the recipe recommended by your healthcare team, then add 2 fluid ounces to each bottle of breast milk.
What formula is closest to Neocate?
EleCare, an amino-acid-based formula, has even fewer equivalents: Only Enfamil’s PurAmino, Nestle’s Alfamino, and Nutricia’s Neocate are similar. A pediatrician or a pediatric gastroenterologist will be able to help with a new prescription or recommendation.
