Landing in jail for a petty theft crime, Alvin finds himself sharing a cell with John Jaster, the incarcerated half of the pair of high-tech thieves responsible for the missing gold. His partner, Bristol, is still at large. Alvin wants only to get out of prison and start fresh with his girlfriend, Lisa, and when the Feds, led by U.S. Treasury investigator Clenteen, set him loose on a sketchy deal, he thinks his luck has changed. The only survivors inside the supermarket are Tina, Josh, Doyle, Kyle, Heather, Steven, Jaime, Jessup, Kirby, Todd, Naomi and Neil. As they try to find a way out of the supermarket, Neil is killed by a 12 foot great white shark. Meanwhile, a second great white approaches Kyle and Heather, who are trapped in their car.

Bait was captured on100ft rolls of B&W Kodak stock, using a 1976 16mm clockwork Bolex camera giving a maximum 28 seconds per take. Shot with a single lens for a consistency of aesthetic. A total of 130 rolls or 13,000 ft of film was hand-processed using an antique Bakelite rewind tank. No two rolls come out the same.
