What is a Kud test?
A kidney, ureter, and bladder (KUB) X-ray may be performed to assess the abdominal area for causes of abdominal pain, or to assess the organs and structures of the urinary and/or gastrointestinal (GI) system. A KUB X-ray may be the first diagnostic procedure used to assess the urinary system.

How do I prepare for the KUB test?
No special patient preparation is necessary before undergoing a KUB radiographic procedure. Radio-opaque objects such as some types of clothing, jewelry, accessories and metals may need to be removed as these interfere with the quality of the images.
Why CT KUB is done?
CT KUB (CT of the Kidneys, Ureters and Bladder) uses CT Technology to take images of the Kidneys, Ureters and Bladders. In male patients, the prostate gland and seminal vesicles are also scanned. This scan is used to diagnose conditions of the urinary system, including kidney stones and causes of flank pain.
What can Renal ultrasound detect?
Ultrasound can detect cysts, tumors, abscesses, obstructions, fluid collection, and infection within or around the kidneys. Calculi (stones) of the kidneys and ureters may be detected by ultrasound.
Will a KUB show constipation?

The patient should not eat or drink anything at least 4 hours prior to the scan. Some diagnostic centers also demand blood test reports of Urea and creatinine level. Some people may be allergic to contrast material. In case you have any prior allergy, inform it to your doctor before the scan.
