Tocco, the newest inception from stylish, Italian restaurateurs Chef Bruno Abate and his partner, Melissa, provides authentic Italian cuisine within a contemporary atmosphere. Ideal for a variety of occasions, the casual chic dining environment includes cozy tables for intimate dinners, a community table for large groups, and a lavish bar and lounge area ideal for an aperitif or hosting cocktail parties. 

 

Italian ingredients

Imported from various regions of Italy, including prosciutto di San Daniele and bufala mozzarella.

Fine italian wines

Our carefully selected wine list includes reds, whites, and prosecco offered by the bottle or glass.

Wood burning oven

Fresh bread and pizza dough made daily and baked in our wood burning oven using various hardwoods.

Tocco, which is Italian for touch, emphasizes the importance of that ‘special touch’. In Italy, we use our hands to express ourselves when we talk, to prepare a delicious meal or to create a beautiful work of art. At Tocco, that special touch translates to the way we create every dish to bring our customers the true flavors of Italy. Tocco is the perfect place for socializing, enjoying a glass wine with friends and indulging in authentic Italian cuisine.

Tocco offers a range of classics, from something as simple as wood fired pizza, to decadent tortelli with truffles, along with contemporary interpretations that are updated with new ingredients and techniques. The bread, pasta and desserts are made in house and every dish is made to order. We strive to use local, organic products whenever possible alongside the finest imported ingredients from Italy.

Bruno Abate

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Born in Naples and raised in Milan, Executive chef Bruno Abate is the personality behind Tocco. His passion for food started at a young age while watching his mother and continued to grow as he pursued a career in the food business becoming a supplier of fish and caviar to the best restaurants in Milan. He brought his passion to Chicago in 2002, when he opened his first restaurant, Follia, in the West Loop. The concept was simple, make authentic Italian cuisine with the finest ingredients and give diners an experience like they were in Italy and Tocco continues that philosophy today.
